SLSO Music Director Stéphane Denève Gives Warm Greetings

Stéphane Denève had a thrilling first season as Music Director of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra.


In this video, he expresses his gratitude to St. Louis for an incredible first season. He also sends heartfelt warm wishes to everyone in his new musical home.




In his first season, Stéphane:


-Led the SLSO in front of 20,000 of his new family members at Forest Park


-Led a program of works by John Williams


-Took the SLSO on tour to Lincoln, Nebraska, and Champaign, Illinois


-Conducted some of the great works of the repertoire by Mahler, Brahms, Gershwin, Debussy, Ravel, Barber, Beethoven, and Rachmaninoff


-Introduced audiences to new works by Kevin Puts, Jennifer Higdon, Guillaume, Connesson, Anna Clyne, and Aaron Jay Kernis


-Took audiences on a journey through a Franco-American Arch, exploring the relationship between French and American music


-Shared the podium with legendary film composer John Williams


-Conducted the inaugural SLSO Crafted concert, a casual concert experience
