On November 12, the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra continued its Crafted concerts with a performance of Ludwig van Beethoven's Symphony No. 5. This casual happy hour concert was held at the Blanche M. Touhill Performing Arts Center on the University of Missouri-St. Louis campus.

Concert attendees mingled with musicians and Music Director Stéphane Denève, enjoyed drinks and complimentary pretzels and desserts, and listened to one of the most iconic pieces of music ever written.

Crafted concerts began during Denève's inaugural season as Music Director in 2019/2020 as a way to introduce audiences to orchestral music using examples and anecdotes throughout the performance. So far, Crafted concerts have featured Johannes Brahms' Symphony No. 4, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 4, and Beethoven's Symphony No. 5.

The next Crafted concert is March 11, 2022, at Powell Hall. Denève will lead the orchestra in Igor Stravinsky's The Firebird Suite.
